Gobber's Digital Edition is ON ITS WAY!

Hello! Yes, its finally here!
You should all see shortly (if you haven't already) that Gobber's Guide To Hearth and Home Digital Edition is being sent out to all backers! If you have not received it, please give it 24 hours to come through, if it does not arrive, please DM us and let us know!
First of all. I cannot thank everyone enough for your patience and support. This has been a tough project, personally and professionally. I think we have quite widely shared about just how many things have happened since we launched this kickstarter, and we acknowledge that we still have some important hurdles in our way.
Physical Edition
So I quickly want to acknowledge what we have said in the last few updates. We are sadly not in the position to get these made. We are working on it, with sales of some Cons in 2026 and our ongoing projects (more of that in a moment) hopefully closing the gap. We will of course update here when there is more news, but unfortunately until we raise that difference, it is a case of work on other projects to raise those funds.
A Departing Hero
Talking of, what next? For one, this dynamic duo is going to be mainly operating as a solo act for the foreseeable future. Dave will be taking a step back from Unlimited Realms, between his growing family and work obligations, continuing creating with Unlimited Realms just isnt doable. In fact Dave was originally going to step back before Gobbers, but decided to stick around long enough to help finish the book off. I am so excited for what the future holds for him and his family, and while he might not be here for the day to day, he will always be welcome to stick his head back in to Unlimited Realms with occasional creations, hopefully we will once again get to the point where he can return in all his glory.
Looking Ahead
With this change, and the experiences in the past year or two, I honestly cannot keep going like I have been, I also refuse to stop creating and interacting with all of you. As previously mentioned, this means I am no longer doing solo Kickstarters like Gobbers. Instead, as its just me, I have moved over to patreon. Here I have been making monthly drops, one monster doc and one items doc a month, as well as giving more frequent updates on myself and what I am working on. In addition I have started a monthly vote for patrons to create a third piece of content each month! (January is a vote between Labubu monsters, An Apex Predator Giant Cat and a species changing artifact!) You don't have to become a paid backer, even free supporters will get something each month, but this will be our number one source of raising funds, for those asking how they could support more towards the physical release!
Fantastical Geographical with Deven Rue
Along side this I have also joined up with an amazing team of creators in the TTRPG space, led by Critical Role's Deven Rue. Fantastical Geographical is a monthly travel magazine, filled with articles and information about a whole new fantasy location for your TTRPGs! The magazine will contain content written by me, Deven and a whole slew of TTRPG content creators! As well as the free monthly magazine, you will also be able to get a paid packet each month, that will contain deep lore, art, maps and characters so that you can use the location in your games! The packet will also contain rules for different systems for the characters, monsters and items that make the location their home! To get the packet, all you have to do is subscribe to my patreon at the Magisterial Society of Explorers tier and you will get not only my stuff, but the content of everyone who contributes to each monthly issue, like their stuff enough, please go support them also! For more information, check our our website https://fantasticalgeographic.com/

I will update this kickstarter when things begin to move with the physical release of Gobbers, however, if you want to hear from me more, but aren't a fan of patreon, please feel free to follow me on Instagram, Blue Sky and Facebook. Otherwise join our Discord where I am going to TRY and be more active.
Edit - More details on the physical release
Someone rightly asked about some more firm numbers and details, so adding what I wrote in the comment below:
So we are short about 2k give or take (with prices fluctuating) for the Physical release. Now to be clear, Patreon isnt the big thing that is going to raise those funds. We have about 3-4k worth of products lined up and ready to sell at conventions this year. We are exploring how to do a more general sale through retailers and online storefronts, however, that means marketing and things, which means more costs, which means what we need to make becomes bigger etc. Our partner in the US is already planning to take that stuff to conventions this year, so waiting for them makes it much easier to hit our goals as it means no further costs.
The Patreon is a much smaller but still important part of that, I'm not banking on suddenly making thousands through there overnight, but everything there will go towards that goal. It also negates operating costs adding to that goal. Unfortunately, as a small business there are just some costs that have to be paid, and while I personally shoulder as many of those that I can and reduce everything to the minimum, the very basics are unavoidable. The monthly income patreon provides negates that, and any over that will add to the Physical Release.

Disappointment, frustration and going forward

Hey everyone,
Sorry there has been more silence. The main reason is part of the chain of completing the book has been having major delays and for the last couple of months, we have been told that it is going to be ready in a week or two, but due to unfortunate circumstances, there is a delay. So we have been in a constant cycle of thinking we were only a week out to releasing the book, then finding out that we will not have it ready. Even right now, we are in a situation where this could be delivered tomorrow and the Digital version will be in peoples hand next week.
Normally, we do everything to be completely open and transparent with these things, unfortunately the details are simply not something we can share, or are willing to share due to the personal nature of the issues arising, but we want to be clear, everyone we work with has our support and we will continue to work with them to help through difficult times. What I can say is that everything else is ready, once delivered, Dave and I have prepared to clear schedules (minus day jobs, which unfortunately just isn't possible) to put all our free time into getting it turned around and out straight away, this process should only take a couple of days, if that, but unfortunately again, there is nothing more we can do until the work we are waiting on is delivered.
I know this is a very unsatisfying and frustrating update to hear. Honestly, its been a very frustrating period for ourselves, with us being in limbo, unable to move forward or get any thing else completed. Again I am sorry.
Looking Forward
This brings me to another difficult subject. The future of Unlimited Realms Ltd. I've touched on this before in previous updates, but this project has been very difficult and a bit of a wake up call. Between production issues and the stress it has landed on our shoulders, what has been incredibly successful before, just isn't viable going forward. We do not have the capacity to create fully realized projects like Cyran's Magnificent Walking Marketplace and Gobbers Guide to Hearth and Home, to the quality we demand of ourselves. As such, after delivering Gobbers (with the physical copies still at the top of our priority list in 2026) We will no longer be doing Kickstarter project, at least solo. While this was a model that worked for us before, it has gotten harder and harder to maintain, and we refuse to let our quality drop or continue to disappoint with delays like Gobbers has provided.
Now what does that mean? Well don't go writing UR obituary just yet. Instead we are rethinking the way we make content for you and we already have some VERY exciting stuff on the horizon. We have previously shared that we are collaborating on a Kickstarter with Gemhammer calledChest of Wonders This is still happening, part of the reason this Kickstarter was so exciting is the things we struggled with for Gobbers is being handled by Gemhammer, so should be a fairly straight forward project where we just get to focus on what we do best, making cool stuff for your TTRPGs
In addition, we are working closely with Deven Rue of Critical Role famewhich will see us create a monthly packet, starting January, that is a "Town in a box" where we will be creating lore and characters, along with art and creations from a team of incredibly popular and talented artists, writers and game designers that have credits that include Dimension 20, Wizards of the Coast, DC and much more. And you will be able to get it through our Patreon every single month!
Out with Kickstarter, in with Patreon.
In fact, as we move away from Kickstarters, we are now going to be moving into continually produce content, including lore, settings as well as more 5e content, through our Patreon. Instead of large unwieldy Kickstarters, which have grown too big for us to manage, we will be delivering content to you monthly. Right now we are aiming for a minimum of 5 magic items and a collection of monsters (or 1 really big monster) a month, which we hope to increase over time. We have so many wonderful messages giving support and even asking if there is more that you can do. Well this is it, even if you don't want to become a paid member, even joining the Patreon for free will help us so much.
And if you are wondering when to do so, now would be the perfect time as we have already begun to update and share new and original content! We were honestly hesitant to do this yet, feeling like we were betraying people by making new content while you were still waiting for Gobbers, but the truth is, we have to keep working. There is nothing we can do about Gobber's until that final piece is delivered (At which point everything else will be dropped) and sadly, we still have bills to pay and (arguably more important) money to raise for getting physical copies out to people. Again we will not be making a single penny on anything we create at Unlimited Realms until that physical copy is printed and being shipped, whether it is from our Patreon or our book sales.
Again, thank you for all the support and I am so sorry for these delays. I literally had another call this week with some progress being made, so hopefully, you will see another update in only a few days with things going out.
Many thanks,
Mat from Unlimited Realms
Issues making the home stretch a bit longer

Greetings, everyone!
First off, an apology. In our last update, we mentioned that Gobber’s Guide to Hearth and Home would be ready within a month — and that was nearly three months ago. It has been a situation where we always led to believe work would be completed in the near future, then were hit with delays, so much so that we were holding out hoping to just have everything done when we next updated. We know many of you have been waiting patiently, and we want to be upfront about where things stand.
The good news is that the content of the book is 100% complete. Everything has been written, edited, and polished — we’ve delivered all our side of the work. The only step left is design and layout which is down to our contracted designer. Unfortunately, what began as a small delay turned into a much larger one when our graphic designer fell ill and had faced some private issues. This has slowed progress considerably. We are in regular contact and chasing updates, but at this point, our options are limited. Other than simply start the process of the book design from scratch, which we don’t want to do as we have a strong policy of supporting our team through difficult periods. It is a case of of providing what support we can and waiting. The work we can do is done and we are essentially waiting on that final stage to be completed before we can move forward with the digital release, which will happen very quickly once we get the designs.
As we shared previously, we had hoped to raise additional funds at Gen Con to help support the print run. Unfortunately we saw a record underperformance in sales at GenCon (with sales being under a quarter of what we have seen in previous years. Unfortunately a trend that many creators experienced at the show.) While those sales gave us a small boost, they no where near reach the level we had hoped for, and need. However, as we said when we first laid out this challenge, this wasn’t our only contingency plan. We are now exploring additional events by the end of the year and any profits from our upcoming joint kickstarter, will be going towards the physical release. So again, we are confident the print edition can be brought to life, we just haven’t reached that goal with our first opportunity.
We deeply appreciate your patience and understanding as we push through this last stretch. The finish line is in sight: it’s simply a matter of waiting for the design work to be completed. Thank you for sticking with us; your support means the world.
Many thanks,
Mat and Dave from Unlimited Realms
Updates, Gencon and Introducing Chest of Wonders

Hey everyone!
First of all, I hope you have all had a good July! We have a few updates for you, including some good news! Plus a big announcement that we previewed last month. So first up, lets get on with the update!
Book at 90%
So firstly the update on the actual book itself. We have made a lot of progress with the book. Most of the writing is done, with Chapters 1, 2 and 3 (of 5) being 100% completed and just in the final stages of having the layout/designs etc being done, these sections include all the base building rules and character options, so this really is the majority of the rules heavy section of the book so have provided a large chunk of this project, so this has taken up a lot of time!
Chapter 4 and 5 which are the sections on Monsters, NPCs and Magic Items are mostly done. We have just found a few changes that need to be addressed for some Monsters after play testing, Probably a weekend or two worth of me making changes and then they will also be completed. I know this means things are taking a little longer than hoped again, but there has been a good reason, I've been fixing the troubles we have had with getting the physical rewards sorted and printed.
The Solution to Our Printing Problem!
So last update, we told you how we just weren't sure how we were going to be able to sort the print run for Gobbers. Well as promised, I have been working hard on a solution, and have found one. We have been lucky enough to find a Printers who will be able to print our entire order of Gobbers, closer to the prices we had been quoted pre-everything. In addition, to this, we have managed to find a partnership that will allow us to raise the funds to make it work. Enter Gemhammer & Sons
Cyran's and Deck of Rumours at Gencon!
We have made a deal with our friends at Gemhammer & Sons so that they will be able to sell our existing products, Cyran's Magnificent Walking Marketplace and Deck of Rumours at Gencon this coming weekend! They will have a limited selection of Cyran's books and products, as well as the full range of Deck of Rumours on sale at their booth, 467.
This is not just exciting because we finally get to have our products on general sale in the US, at the biggest TTRPG Convention, but because the funds raised from it will be immediately going towards getting Gobbers printed. The team there have been amazing allies who have been helping us grow and learn to fix issues that have plagued us since day one (plus their TTRPG products share a chaotic energy that just fits so well with our own!) But that is not all, we are teaming up with Gemhammer & Sons on a whole new project that we are unveiling for Gencon.
The party finally defeats the dragon, their eyes glint with eagerness as they prepare to dive headfirst into their hoard, and then the dread takes over: You forgot to prepare the loot!
Panic sets in. You frantically search loot tables while your players reach for their phones, disappointed. Is this how your months-long adventure ends?
There is a better way.
Instead, open the Chest of Wonders. Discover a trove of unique weapons, armors, and relics, all beautifully illustrated and sorted by rarity to help you tell the story you want. Each card in Chest of Wonders features a ready-to-use magic item, complete with rules designed to slot seamlessly into any 5e setting. Whether you're a Dungeon Master looking to reward bold heroes or a player daydreaming about your next prized possession, this deck is your new favorite tool.
Chest of Wonders is brought to you by the arcane minds at Gemhammer & Sons (Gemhammer Grimoire, Deck of Dynamic Dungeons) and Unlimited Realms Ltd (Cyran’s Magnificent Walking Marketplace, Deck of Rumours). Backed by thousands and praised by players and DMs alike, this deck is forged with love, experience, and just a little chaotic magic.
Your loot goblins have never had it this good.
Yes, we are launching a new Kickstarter, teaming up with Gemhammer & Sons, unvieling our new prelaunch page here: https://bit.ly/46TKQpl
The Future of Unlimited Realms Ltd
As we mentioned before, this was one of the ways we were exploring dealing with our physical print issue. Now that we have a solution for this, we still wanted to go ahead with this new project, but now it will help ensure that there is still an Unlimited Realms Ltd exists AFTER Gobbers ships.
I want to reassure you that Chest of Wonders will not be taking any time away from delivering Gobbers, as the work will begin once Gobbers has moved to printing. This is a project where we are taking the many magic items we have made in the past, including many that have been cut for space, combining them with the amazing magic item catalog of Gemhammer & Sons, and creating a whole new, easy to use, set of magic item cards for you. This means most of the work is already done, with us just turning focus in refining the cards, once Gobbers has shipped.
Again, thank you all for your support, patience and all your love,
Mat
Progress, Challenges and the Final Stages

Hey everyone!
First of all, sorry it has been a little bit! The health issues I talked about in our last update have sadly persisted, and while I am improving, things are moving a bit slower than I'd have liked. I do want to thank you all for all the support you have shown, your messages have really helped me through a tough period, and have helped me to push through to complete more of the logistics of this project.
The other reason I haven't shared much is because, simply put, there haven't been a lot of exciting things to share. Progress continues, and the book is a lot more ready than it was before, but the last thing I want to do is spam your inboxes with updates that simply come down to "We've done more writing!" Instead, I'd rather wait until I have a bit more for you. This brings me to today's update, where, in the spirit of full transparency, I'm going to break down exactly where we are in production, as well as exactly what challenges we have remaining (spoiler, it's just one big one).
Digital Book
I will not bury the lead, the digital copy of the book is not going to be going out this month, but we are not also expecting a huge delay. You should all be receiving it by the end of July. We want the finished product to be worth the wait, and as such, those additional weeks will do wonders to help us polish and apply final design tweaks.
Playtesting has also finished, with the final rules ready for implementation. As proof, please enjoy a few snippets of the book!
Physical Book
While the actual writing of the book is progressing well, we are facing challenges regarding the logistics of the physical copies.
We mentioned previously that, with the situation of global trade as it is, several stumbling blocks have appeared for us. The Unlimited Realms team has always adopted a policy of honesty with our backers, and this is going to be no different. TLDR: With global tariffs rising, our original plans for production & distribution are now too expensive for a print run of our scale. We are searching for a new printing partner that ticks our requirements, but this is proving to be a challenge.
To start, when we built our Kickstarter, we had a printing plan, working with a Printer based in China that would be within the budget we had accommodated for when we set our goal. The original budget was the most cost-effective option that still ensured a good-quality product, with plans to scale up if the Kickstarter had raised additional funds.
However, when tariffs were introduced earlier this year, an extra cost was added to that cheapest option, meaning it no longer fit into the budget we had calculated. We immediately started looking for alternative options, however, most printers have a minimum order limit, which our original printing partner did not. So not only must we find a printer that fits within our budget, but is also able to print a rather small amount of books (under 1,000 copies).
In an ideal world, we would be able to work with a US or European-based printer and print extra copies that we can sell after distributing Kickstarter rewards. Larger companies (who are facing similar issues) have been able to do that, but we sadly do not have the resources to do this. And to be clear, Dave and I already made the decision to not pay ourselves for any work on Gobber's to help the situation.
The Solutions
We have a plan to resolve this situation. We are currently in talks with a printer that, while more expensive than our original budget, would be more cost-effective than continuing with our initial plan. To make this work, we are exploring a couple of options, involving discussions with publishers, to collaborating with other industry figures to raise further funds through a combination of deals and promotions at events.
Currently, we can't confirm a timeline for delivering the Physical, but we are still confident in being able to deliver them. We are not giving up, and are working hard to get the copies in your hands as early as possible. We will of course keep you updated as to the situation, so you know what to expect every step of the way.
Future Projects
Because there is this delay on the Physical delivery, I wanted to take a moment to share a little more about the general future of Unlimited Realms.
Almost everything we make from our Kickstarters gets put back into the project. Dave and I make very little on each project (as mentioned above, with Gobber's, nothing). This means that every project we do could very well be our last. That's why delivering the best product we can is so important to us: we've taken five years to build our reputation, and we'll be darned if we're going to let you guys down now.
Unlimited Realms has been quietly collaborating and working on a new project for some time now. Originally this was intended to launch after the physical delivery of Gobber's, but due to the delays with printing, it may go live beforehand.
We want to reassure you: until every physical copy has been distributed, Gobber's will remain our top priority. The book is fully written, and we’re actively working to secure the right printing partner. We haven’t given up on delivering the physical copies you’ve been waiting for. In fact, the success of any future project will directly support the delivery of Gobber’s. Every bit of profit earned from Unlimited Realms will be put towards our printing solution that meets the standards you deserve.
Again, I want to thank you all for your patience. Our next update will be focusing on the delivery of digital editions, and again, we love you all.
Many thanks,
Mat
